The ideal visa to study for a long period in Australia is the student visa (visa 500). However, also with other visas you can study a maximum of 3 months, these are: tourist visa and Work and Holiday visa.
You must take into account that only with the student visa you are allowed to work 20 hours per week and that the country you come from will always depend on the access you have to each of the visas that Australia offers.

At a minimum, all students applying for a visa outside of Australia will be required to provide:

The Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) requirement is used to ensure that the student visa program is used as intended. It consists of writing a letter where you explain the reasons why you want to study in Australia, why you have chosen the course you will study and how it will be useful in developing your professional profile in your country of origin, because you have chosen to study it in Australia and not in your country. The person (s) who will be your sponsors are people who will help you financially and can only be parents and a partner. The Department of Immigration takes into account your relationship with your sponsor, your financial circumstances and assesses the possibility that you can actually access the funds during your stay in Australia.
